The Look of Lust

·         “Oh be careful little eyes what you see… Lust is a look from the eyes that can bind the heart in foolishness and sin

·         Satan works in our mind from what we have seen, read and heard  “Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. (I Pet. 5:8)

·         Lust leads to destruction

When tempted, no one should say, God is tempting me.” For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone; but each one is tempted when, by his own evil desire, he is dragged away and enticed. Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death. (James 1:13-15)

Lust verses Love

·        Love is patient  (I Cor. 13:4)

·        Love is kind  (I Cor. 13:4)

·        Love is not self seeking (I Cor. 13:5)

Loosing the Bonds of Lust

·        Seek Cleansing from God

Give thanks to the Lord for He is good…Some sat in darkness and the deepest gloom, prisoners suffering in iron chains, for they had rebelled against the words of God…Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress. He brought them out of the darkness and the deepest gloom and broke away their chains. (Psalm 107:8-14)

·        Accept the reality of temptation

No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful, he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it. (I Cor.10:13)

·        Prepare your mind

Finally brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, what ever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable, if anything is excellent or praise worthy, think about such things. (Phil. 3:8)

·        Guard your heart

With a multitude of councils there is safety (Prov. 11:14)

·        Yield yourself to God

Do not offer (yield) yourself to sin, as instruments of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God…(Rom. 6:13)
